Earth Day Omaha relies on a community of volunteers to help direct and produce Nebraska’s largest and longest-running environmental event.

The purpose of the Earth Day Omaha event is to provide a showcase for the many charitable, scientific and educational efforts advocating for sustainable environmental practices and lifestyles.

We are looking for volunteers with some of the following skills

  • Event Planning or Organization skills
  • Marketing or Public Relations experience
  • Donor Relations and Fundraising
  • Sustainability Education and Awareness
  • Self–Motivated
  • Communication skills

Anticipated general responsibilities are:

  • Support the mission
  • Ensure effective planning and accountability by attending meetings regularly
  • Contribute to a positive, creative and effective group atmosphere
  • Ensure legal and ethical integrity
  • Have fun!

  • Have you previously attended an Earth Day Omaha or other Earth Day event
  • What experience do you have planning major events?
  • What actions have you taken to improve the environment (at home, at work, in the community)?
  • Please describe your role, if any, with one other non-profit or community organization that you are or have been involved with.

Please remember this is a volunteer position for help planning the event. Additional day of volunteer positions are also available! The future of Earth Day Omaha relies on its community helpers to plan the entire event with the assistance of contracted help.
