Kyle Johnson was the 2017 Friend of the Environment award winner in the Individual category. Kyle was selected for his role as the Landscape Maintenance Tech at the Joslyn Art Museum. In this role, Kyle managed the grounds of the facility almost entirely organically for the safety of families and Central High students that frequent the grounds.
At Joslyn, Kyle was also committed to minimizing pesticide and fertilizer inputs, and was responsible for fabricating his own composting equipment, lawn application gear, and vehicles for the grounds that minimize compaction and fuel usage.
In addition to his role at Joslyn, Kyle runs a blog called Compostular where he promotes environmentally sustainable practices.
